Yasin Merchant was born 17 December 1966. He is India’s first professional snooker player. He was won the National Snooker championships on 3 occasions, in 2001, 2000 and 1991. Yasin Merchant has been India’s foremost snooker player, having won the Asian Snooker title in 1989 and 2001. He also took the second spot in the 1991 and the 2007 Asian Snooker event.
