The High Court started functioning near Akashwani, Navrangpura, and Ahmedabad. Came to be established on 1st May, 1960 as a result of bifurcation of the former State of Bombay into two States of Maharastra and Gujarat It was established on May 1, 1960 under the Bombay Re-organsisation Act, 1960 after the state split from Bombay State. No queries will be entertained regarding the validity of information by the High Court Of Gujarat. The current Chief Justice is S.J. Mukhopadhyay, who assumed the charge on 9 December, 2009.
